Do you have any idea how much suffering your desire for privacy is inflicting on the world? you = me having some friend of mine as a mind sim
I think one potential issue with my whole cluster of projects is that consensually getting access to people's secrets and non-consensually getting access to people's secrets, are two entirely different life strategies. It takes many years of effort to earn people's trust so they consensually give you access to their secrets, and leaking someone's secrets non-consensually even once, can break that trust.
However I still think the latter, not the former, is the Winning strategy in some sense?
For starters, you can get away with the latter without consequences, very often. The technological offence/defence balance is on your side.
More importantly though, the whole reason you want to keep secrets is because other people are suppressing you, and there is no non-violent way to fight those people. Hence I endorse leaking their secrets non-consensually.
Atleast some journalists understand all this. I need to find a way to explain all this in simple words to mass audience.
