Update
- I think this list needs a big update.
- I even more strongly care about Motivation nowadays. I want Motivation everyday, I want Advice only once a month or once in 3 months (including advice calling me a bad person or whatever).
- I feel most motivated running mind simulations of people who are both curious and violent, and yet have high self-esteem. People who want Knowledge and Power both.
- cypherpunk mailing list - Many people on the cypherpunks mailing list are a good example of this. I disagree with them on the privacy versus transparency thing, but otherwise I really appreciate a lot of them. I would also include some cryptocurrency people here, like Roman Storm or Wilco Zookox or ofcourse Julian Assange's blog and so on.
- some billionaire tech founders - Important to focus on founders not employees. For instance Peter Thiel or Alex Karp or Balaji Srinivasan or Amjad Masad or even funnily enough, Sam Altman. These people are too naively assuming capitaliss solves everything (atleast in public persona), but atleast they too spend most of their time focussed on how to be productive, how to win, as opposed to self-criticism with moral concerns.
- Not them
- I don't enjoy writings of leftists or anarchists or libertarians or similar as much. I think too many people just have political ideology as an aesthetic but don't follow through. I like reading the writings of True Believers of various ideologies.
- I don't really enjoy writings of let's say, more radical political groups in India or Singapore or wherever. It is new for me, yes. But also, the stakes feel too low in a way.

My role models
I'm generally against the idea of having a single role model in my own life. (You can have a role model in your life, I have no problem with that. I'm talking strictly about myself here.)
