Reddit

Reddit is made up of various subreddits.

"The reason there are separate subreddits is to allow niche communities to form, instead of having one monolithic overall community. These communities distinguish themselves with a unique focus, look and policies: what's on- and off-topic there, whether people are expected to behave civilly or can feel free to be brutal, etc."

If you're new to reddit, check out the FAQ.

To look for subreddits better suited to you (and this is most important), check out the r/findareddit directory. This directory is by no means complete, you might always find new subs from all sorts of places.

I have like a hundred saved links maybe on reddit. And hundreds more I've not saved. The following is just a sampling of some (not all) of the best stuff I found there.

Stackexchange

Used to be quite active on it once upon a time, not so much anymore.

Here's the StackExchange tour if you're new. SE is mostly academic-related stuff and some fun stuff. They're very particular about their rules of scope, don't despair if your first few posts are poorly received.

Here's my account (ghosts_in_the_code), do check out some of my top posts there. I mostly frequented Puzzling, Code Golf, Math and Worldbuilding.

I'm afraid I don't exactly have a set of links to show right now, though I learnt a ton of new stuff there.

Update: Google the following, you'll get them easily (else message me I provide the links)

On puzzling SE:

On code golf SE:

Here's the full list of sites, if you wanna go site hunting. Or else just check out the front page.

More stuff

I'll be honest I'm actually kinda disappointed I never bothered to actually archive stuff I found interesting. Here's just some stuff I found while browsing through my bookmarks over the years.

Okay it wasn't a complete bust.
