I seem to not be doing very well in life. So I am often carefully trying to track what actually makes me feel better and what doesn't.
More than one person has pointed out that maybe this behaviour itself is making me feel worse.
It is true that happy people aren't generally asking themselves if they are happy, because they don't need to. It is primarily unhappy people who ask themselves this question.
One of the ways to be happy is to literally be in a flow state.
Maybe the solution is to ask yourself less frequently? Like, pre-commit to check again after one week or one month or something, but try not to ask yourself this question every waking moment.
I don't think this solution will work for me as of literally today (2026-02-09), but it is worth keeping at back of mind I guess
